A Digital Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas at Fresh Collaboration,
Not a creature was stirring, everyone was ready for vacation.
The social media post were scheduled with care,
In hopes that new ‘Likes’ and ‘Followers’ soon would be there.
The clients were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of ROI danced in their heads.
And after cheering to the holiday with what was on tap,
Our team had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the road there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the office to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like the Flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The lights from the Griswolds that often gave woe,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to the objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Digital Nick.
More rapid than Google’s hummingbird they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Panda! now, Penguin! now, Yelp and Twitter!
On, Yahoo! On, Bing! on, LinkedIn and Flickr!
To the top of the of search engines! to the top of the wall!
Now rank away! Rank away! Rank away all!”
And then, in a twinkling, I saw on the web page,
The results of online visitors actively engaged.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Out of the Mac Digital Nick came with a bound.
He was techy and geeky, and a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his hand,
Soon he ranked all our sites #1 in the land!
He spoke not a word, but continued his work,
Adding glowing reviews, removing the one from a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, through the Mac he goes!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a Digital-Night!”
